Meet our co-founders and trustees

Our amazing team who without, none of this would have been possible. Meet our decision makers...

Zoe Steeper
Co-founder

For work, Zoe teaches swimming to babies and parents, through to older children age 10. It has been a career journey that started from Oli's first swimming lesson, which was taught by the swim school owner; another change that Oli helped to create.

When the Government announced plans to change ratios, Zoe felt drawn into doing something she'd never done before, set up a petition which was to amass nearly 110,000 signatures of support. This, alongside building the Foundation up, has helped Zoe and Lewis to push every ounce of love Oli had for the world into something that will keep his name alive.

With most of her time now taken up with Oli's younger brother, Jake, Zoe still enjoys great company and chilled out evenings with snacks and cups of tea.

Lewis Steeper
Co-founder

Lewis is a full time company director specialising in the usage of drones in the aggregate and construction industries and part time HGV driver when business is quiet. Along with Zoe, Lewis campaigns tirelessly for the relaxation of ratios to be stopped in the early years sector. When not working, Lewis enjoys PC flight simulation and the occasional Warzone, and watching every random video possible on youtube!  (The Office USA and the Inbetweeners are favourites!)

Lewis runs the facebook and twitter accounts for the foundation.

Nicola Forster
Trustee

Hi! I’m Nicola. I first met Zoe nearly 8 years ago when I started working for the Fire Service. We started as colleagues, but our love of cake and chatting has made us firm friends!

Myself and my son Logan were privileged to spend lots of time with Oli and we have lovely memories of days out to the beach and Leeds Castle. Logan loved Oli, him sharing his cars with Oli was definitely a sign of that! To be able to honour Oli’s memory by being part of the charity is a great honour.

In my spare time, I enjoying going for bike rides with my husband and Logan (with me trying to keep up!), baking and horse riding.

Abbie Barrett

Trustee

Hey, I'm Abbie, I'm a baby and preschool swimming teacher and a mum to 2 adventurous kids, Kiara and Kobi.

Outside of work and being a mum I love baking, running and eating anything I can get my hands on... Specifically pasta and chocolate!

I met Zoe through work and we became very close friends from there. Having 2 young children myself that both attend nursery and primary school, having adequate first aid in childcare settings is something I feel is crucial!

I feel honoured I get to help support Zoe and Lewis with the Charity, both as mother and a friend. I Truly believe we can make a huge difference with the Lifevac and are also preventing other parents having to go through the grief, pain and heartache Zoe and Lewis are going through by the tragic loss of Oliver. We'll keep his name and spirit alive through the Oliver Steeper Foundation 💙

Victoria Rowley

Trustee

Victoria, in a professional capacity, is a Swim School Owner, but in her previous life was a Retail Manager and a Football Referee! She has also set-up, managed and coached, and been the Secretary and Treasurer for a Men’s football club.

She has two boys and loves all things sport, mainly swimming (of course!) and football. Victoria is ultra-organised and efficient.

Victoria is passionate about supporting Zoe and Lewis with this tremendous cause and has always done everything she can to keep Oli’s memory alive; including setting up Oliver Steeper’s Gift of Swimming, which gives the gift of a year of swimming lessons to one child every year on Oli’s birthday.

Inese Roziņa

Trustee

My name is Inese or how many colleagues and friends call me – Nessie. I am originally from Latvia however I have been living in the UK for just over 15 years. I work for South East Coast Ambulance Service as an Associate Ambulance Practitioner/Student Paramedic and my connection with Ollie, Zoe, and Lewis is that myself and my colleagues attended to Ollie on that horrible day.

It took me a while to reach out to Zoe after Ollie passed however we have met since and hopefully started to build a wonderful friendship. I hope that within my role as a Trustee, I can get involved by educating people about basic first aid at home or in educational settings and talking about the importance of knowing when and how to act. I am very excited about what’s ahead of us.
