LifeVac Device

Welcome to the application process for a funded LifeVac device.

LifeVac doesn't take away the requirement for basic lifesaving to be performed, protocol must be followed and when all attempts have been exhausted or failed, LifeVac can then be deployed.

Currently we are accepting applications of interest from registered nurseries, preschools and childminders.. We hope in the future to be able to fundraise enough to expand into schools etc.

To be eligible for a free LifeVac device you or your setting must be:

  • A nursery/pre-school or childminder

  • Ofsted / Scottish Care Inspectorate / Care Inspectorate Wales or Family Support NI registered with a relevant URN or registration number

  • Not already in possession of a LifeVac device/kit

We plan to supply all nurseries with a wall mountable box allowing the device to be found immediately in a choking emergency. We strongly recommend the included A3 laminated training poster be secured under or in close proximity to the device.

If you are a registered childminder in your own home, we plan to supply grab/travel kits more suitable for home storage.

If you have more then one setting, each setting must be registered individually.  We can only provide one device per setting.

LifeVac kit contents;

Wall Mounting Kit comes complete with LifeVac Unit, LifeVac Instruction Booklet, A3 Laminated BLS Poster, 1 Paediatric Mask, 1 Small Child/Adult Mask, 2 Medium Adult (1 test) masks, 1 Large Adult Mask, feedback form and 1 window/door sticker.

LifeVac Travel Kit comes with a LifeVac Unit, LifeVac Instruction Booklet, A5 BLS leaflet, 1 Paediatric Mask, 1 Small Child/Adult Mask, 1 Medium Adult (test) mask, 1 Large Adult Mask and feedback form. A window/door sticker is also included. The sticker is so you can advise customers and the people you care for, that a LifeVac is on site.

Timeframes:

We are just as keen as you are to have your device ready in your setting, however please be aware that devices can only be purchased when we have the available funds. We are working hard now and will do in the future to ensure we are always ready to purchase new devices, but please understand that as a charity, income will fluctuate. This may mean a longer wait than we would like, however we will keep you up to date on any delays should they happen.

Oliver was part of the Ashford community and as such our priority will be initially to provide LifeVac's to settings in our hometown. Hopefully we will be able to do so and then move onto further settings quite quickly.

Training:

The LifeVac device can be used by anyone, it has been designed to be, and is approved for use by individuals which have no professional training. However, we fully recommend and support you and your staff members in receiving training.

LifeVac offer free online CPD training which all your staff members can take, completed in around 30 minutes. LifeVac also offer zoom/teams training sessions free of charge.

If you require face to face training, this is also possible but does carry a charge payable directly to LifeVac Europe Limited.

Future costs:

Due to material degradation, these masks will have a shelf life of 2 years from manufacture date. The expiry day will be printed either on the wall mounted box, or on the instruction manual in other kits.

The device itself will not expire.

The current cost of replacement masks is £3.10p, plus VAT & postage which can be purchased directly from www.lifevac.uk

For the above reasons, we strongly advise that you check the expiry dates of your masks regularly whilst undertaking your routine first aid equipment checks.

In the event you have to use your LifeVac:

If you ever have to use LifeVac in a choking emergency, the device and mask will be replaced free of charge by LifeVac. Please report the usage directly to www.lifevac.uk or the via enclosed feedback form.

LifeVac FAQ's:

LifeVac frequently asked questions can be found here.

Donations towards the cost of your device:

During the application process you will be asked if you can contribute towards the postage for your device which is £8, if you can help with this cost it would be greatly appreciated and allow our funds to be used on devices rather then postage costs.

A donation isn't mandatory and will not affect the outcome of your application.

The previous round on 04/08/25 was for 40 devices.

Please note the google form linked to this button will disable automatically when the number of devices available is reached.
