Everything we do is inspired by Oliver’s story and the belief that no family should have to experience the pain of losing a child to something that could have been prevented.
Our mission is simple: to protect children by making sure every nursery, preschool and childcare setting has access to life-saving choking intervention equipment.
That’s why we are so proud to announce that we’ve donated 30 LifeVac anti-choking travel kits to the Banana Moon nursery network giving staff and children that extra layer of protection whenever they head out on their daily adventures.
Why this donation matters
Trips out are such an exciting part of nursery life. Whether it’s a walk to the local park, a visit to the library, or a day out exploring, these moments create memories that children (and parents!) treasure. But with any trip away from the nursery building, there are added risks – and choking remains one of the biggest dangers young children face.
Even with the very best care, choking can happen suddenly, and when it does, every second matters. On outings, staff can’t always rely on immediate help from emergency services. That’s why having LifeVac travel kits on hand gives nursery teams the confidence to act quickly and effectively if the worst were to happen.
For parents, this donation means extra peace of mind. It means knowing that their child isn’t just safe while inside the nursery, but also when out exploring the world beyond those walls.

Banana Moon leading the way
We are especially proud of our partnership with Banana Moon, who continue to set the standard for child safety in UK childcare. Earlier this year, they became the first national nursery chain to install wall-mounted LifeVac devices across all of their nurseries protecting children inside each setting thanks to an incredible donation of devices by Eden Training Solutions.
Now, with the addition of these 30 portable travel kits, Banana Moon is ensuring that protection doesn’t stop at the nursery doors. Their staff can now carry life-saving equipment with them on trips, outings, and daily walks so no matter where children are, safety is always close at hand.
This is a true example of a childcare provider going above and beyond. And we couldn’t be more proud to support them.
A shared commitment to child safety
At the heart of this partnership is a shared value: children’s safety must always come first. The Oliver Steeper Foundation exists to turn heartbreak into hope by helping to prevent choking tragedies.
Every LifeVac kit we donate is placed in Oliver’s name and in his memory, we want to give other children the chance to grow, thrive, and experience life’s adventures safely.
Together with Banana Moon, we’re making nurseries safer not just for today’s children, but for the future.
Looking forward
This is one step on a much bigger journey. Our vision is simple: we want to see LifeVac in every childcare setting across the UK in nurseries, preschools, and with childminders so that no matter where a child is cared for, this vital piece of equipment is there if it’s needed.
We can’t achieve this without support. Every donation, every fundraiser, and every person who spreads the word helps us protect more children. The more kits we can distribute, the more lives we can save.
💙 From Lewis and Zoe, thank you to our supporters for making donations like this possible. And thank you to Banana Moon for continuing to put children’s safety front and centre. Together, we are making a real difference – one LifeVac kit at a time.
