We’re very proud to announce our 500th donation of a LifeVac anti-choking device which has been donated to Hersden Under 5's Project. These devices are used when first aid has failed or cannot be performed, and we are completely humbled by how many people have supported our cause since we were officially registered as a charity in February 2024 (and even before then!)
As devoted parents, our ultimate goal was to ensure that Oli's memory would live on by making a significant impact on child safety in early years settings not only in Kent but also beyond. Our vision was to equip all registered early years settings with LifeVacs, a crucial device that could potentially save lives in emergency situations. The realization of this ambitious dream would not have been possible without the overwhelming support and generosity from various sources. We are immensely grateful for the unwavering support from members of the public who believed in our cause, as well as the invaluable contributions from esteemed organizations like the East Kent Freemasons and the Kent Community Foundation.
In addition, the assistance received from local councillor charity grants and businesses played a pivotal role in helping us reach our target of providing LifeVacs to numerous early years settings. The collective effort and solidarity displayed by the community in coming together for this noble cause are truly heart warming. The sheer number of donations received is a testament to the compassion and kindness that exists within our society.
Through these collaborative efforts, we have not only achieved our initial goal but have also surpassed expectations, creating a lasting impact on child safety and well-being. Oli's legacy now shines brightly through the tangible difference we have made in ensuring the safety and security of young children in educational environments. We are profoundly grateful to everyone who played a part in making this vision a reality, and we are inspired by the power of unity and compassion in creating positive change.
We are immensely proud of Oli and his remarkable journey since he departed from us in September 2021. The charity he founded has been a beacon of light guiding us through the darkest days, offering solace and support during the challenging times, especially throughout the recent months leading up to his inquest. The inception of the charity took root during our time in London with Oli at the Evelina, a period when the concept of the LifeVac device was still unfamiliar to us. It was through the connection with Matt from LifeVac Europe that everything fell into place, marking the beginning of a transformative chapter. The unwavering support from all involved, including Lewis and the team, has been instrumental in bringing this vision to fruition, and for that, we are profoundly grateful.
From the outset, we harbored grand aspirations for the charity, envisioning a future that now seems to have materialized at a pace beyond our expectations since its registration. The rapid progress serves as a testament to the extraordinary kindness of strangers, demonstrating the power of collective goodwill. Once again, we extend our heartfelt gratitude to everyone who has played a part in this journey, for their generosity, dedication, and belief in our cause. The impact of Oli's charity has been nothing short of remarkable, and we are humbled by the outpouring of support that has propelled us to where we stand today.
Here’s to the next 500 devices out there, hopefully never needed but always ready if they are.
One final huge THANK YOU to everyone, with lots of love from Oli x
